1957 - The Elvis Presley movie "Loving You" premiered in Memphis at the Strand Theater.

1958 - Elvis Presley began his first weekend furlough from the U.S. Army. He recorded two sessions in Nashville including the song "I Go Stung" and "I Need Your Love Tonight." This was his last recording session until after his March 1960 discharge from the U.S. Army.

1958 - Elvis Presley's single "Hard Headed Woman" was shipped.

1964 - Elvis began working on the soundtrack to the movie "Girl Happy."

1966 - The Elvis Presley single "Long Legged Girl" hit #63 in the U.S.

1966 - Elvis Presley recorded the song "If Every Day Was Christmas."

1969 - Elvis Presley flew to Las Vegas to discuss arrangements for what was to be his comeback to the live stage after eight years.

1972 - The album "Elvis Now" hit #12 in the U.K.

1972 - The Elvis Presley album "Rock And Roll" hit #34 in the U.K. The album was the reissue of "Rock 'N' Roll No. 1."

1978 - The Elvis Presley compilation album "He Walks Beside Me" hit #113 in the U.S.
