1800 - John Adams moved to Washington, DC. He was the first President to live in what later became the capital of the United States.

1974 - Charles Colson, an aide to U.S. President Richard Nixon, pled guilty to obstruction of justice.

1992 - Bill Clinton, while campaigning for U.S. President, played saxophone on the "Aresenio Hall Show".

1999 - U.S. President Clinton informed the U.S. Congress that he intended to renew "normal trade relations" with China for another year.

2009 - A 500-pound bronze sculpture by Chas Fagan of Ronald Reagan was unveiled in the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, DC.
