1876 - Thomas H. Forsyth earned a Medal of Honor for his actions at Powder Creek, WY. Forsyth was wounded, maintained his ground and then rescued his injured commanding officer and a comrade from the attacking Indians. 1876 - General Ranald Mackenzie and 1,100 troopers surrounded sleeping Cheyenne on the Red Fork of the Powder River. The next morning the troops destroyed the camp and found many articles that belong to General Custer's men. The Indians made their way 70 miles up to the Sioux camp of Crazy Horse.
