1967 - The U.S. and South Vietnam launched Operation Cedar Falls with the goal of disupting insurgent operations near Saigon. The operation lasted for 18 days.

1973 - U.S. National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger and Hanoi’s Le Duc Tho resumed peace negotiations in Paris, France. On January 23, 1973, the United States, North Vietnam, the Republic of Vietnam, and the Viet Cong signed a cease-fire agreement that was to take effect five days later.
